Latest DFW Airport Expenditures

I always like to read the DFW Airport board meeting notes, as it provides some useful information, and plenty that is just interesting, at least to me. Here are a few from the January 6 board meeting:

$225,000 per year for a new Director of Audit Services. An annual bonus of up to $33,750 is available as well as an airport provided car. Other notes in the board meetings show the cost of a car provided by the airport for an executive vice president to be over $47,000 per year.

$200,000 for a one-year contract for pavement deicing material. This material is a complex chloride in granular form, which is an effective tool for treating icy roads and pavement.

$102,158.40 for ammunition for the airport police. “Police Training is responsible for the firearms training of all commissioned police officers and police recruits. Firearms training includes mandatory annual qualifications, pistol and rifle basic and advanced training courses, as well as routine in-service firearms training.”

$3,347,446.88, for the initial one-year period term of the Contract, with options to renew for four additional one-year periods. This company now has to "provide landscaping services including mowing, trimming, tree and shrub maintenance, weeding on 2,248 acres, as well as litter control for 391 acres of parking lots, as well as the terminals."
