SkyWest Airlines (SWIA) is making significant cuts to its flying, as the company grapples with staffing shortages due to COVID-19 infections and quarantines, as well as winter weather issues. In January, the regional carrier is cutting just under 700 flights per week, with over 40 percent of those cuts impacting flights for American Eagle. Indeed, SkyWest is also cutting over 460 weekly American Eagle flights in February and 372 per week in March.
